Camping in the Heat

The last couple weeks I’ve traveled from Texas to Florida. It probably wasn’t my smartest plan to travel to the south in the summer but it was definitely a learning experience. Florida is a beautiful state, so green and lush, with so much more wildlife than I ever expected. During my time here, I have seen monkeys, alligators,…

Carlsbad Caverns

It was a difficult decision. Up to this point I have been to 16 national parks over the last nearly two months and I’ve been able to adjust to a canine copilot. Usually either by driving through and jumping out at viewpoints or when it’s cold enough, actually leaving him to sleep in the car….

Sunset

Welcome to New Mexico! Someone gave the job of cloud creation during sunsets to Steven Spielberg and only allowed him to use cotton candy as his medium. The Grand Canyon

I swear it was only a few days ago that I was rooting around in my Thule storage and noticed the unopened box of hand warmers and thought, “Well that was a waste of money.” Now on my fourth day of 30 degree weather, I am so glad I have those. I have gone through…
