A Look Back – Week 1

Most BreathtakingCrater Lake  • Runner-up – Trinity River

Coolest (Worth a Trip)Alvord Desert & Steens Mountains

Most Surprising – Northern California (NorCal) Hwy 299

Favorite Little Town I Have Never Heard of – Weaverville,CA

National Parks Visited – Crater Lake & Redwoods

Most Uncomfortable Moment – A food cart-like truck (not a food cart but maybe a roving meth lab) parked next to my camp spot in an otherwise empty primitive campground.  Then another car showed up for about 30 minutes in which a man approached my camp with a rope and when close enough said, “Excuse me, did you drop this rope?”

Biggest Achievement – Tire Change, although fading, still living on that high

Highlight – The stars in the Alvord Desert (and the cartwheels and handstands)

Stranger Hero – Jeff, the Car Jumper in Brookings

Miles Driven – About 1175

States – Oregon & Part of California
