Red Canyon is My Favorite

Yesterday was another National Park day, there are a lot of those out there, I think we went to Bryce Canyon. It looked cool from the car window but like every other National park that’s all I get, except the Grand Canyon! I just had to stay above the rim so the Grand Canyon is my favorite so far. Once we drove through Bryce Canyon and mom disappeared a few times, we went back the way we came and to our campsite.

I love this place. It’s called Red Canyon and is supposedly the little version of Bryce Canyon. Whatever you want to call it, it is awesome! IMG_4398 copyrightWe went on this hike back and forth up this hill last night and before you knew it we were at the top and I of course was leading but then the trail got really narrow and it dropped off on either side. I wouldn’t say I was scared but I needed to make the right choice and protect my mom so I made her turn around and head back down. You know, I don’t want anything to happen to her.

This morning we woke up and went on a monster hike through the Red Canyon. It was so pretty and there was no one else around so Mom took my leash off and let me lead the way. A few times I turned around and didn’t see her, I have a much faster pace than she does, so I patiently waited until I saw her, then I would take off again. We made it to the top of this point and it was amazing, you could see in every direction in orange and green and blue. It got really windy though so we didn’t stay too long. It started to hail on the way down but that didn’t stop me, my fur coat keeps me warm, sometime too warm. I kept my eye out for any big cats or squirrels or snakes but thankfully didn’t see any. It was such a fun hike and it took a few hours, so by the time we got back to camp, I passed out in the dirt for a long nap. I think my mom may have done the same thing.

In these smaller parks it is very nice how there are much less people! Nice view indeed!
