This week was my first friend stay, a short break from the road. I arrived in Pleasanton, California to the open arms of some of my very favorite people. A taste of the all american family in suburban California. A week full of baseball games, softball practices, birthday parties, school, naps, and movies, a stark contrast to the week prior. They have fed me, given me a bed to sleep in and spoiled Franklin with belly rubs.  Today, however, we are leaving and after 5 awesome days we say our tearful goodbyes and hit the road, back into the forest and to some more National Parks; Yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon.

I’m very fortunate to have such an amazing support system with friends and family across the country that I get to visit on this trip.
