I did it! After working, nearly every day for 5,000 days (almost 14 years), I walked into my boss’ office and gave my notice. To be honest, it was pretty anti-climatic. No fireworks, no clowns jumping out of the closet, no staplers thrown, just a calm conversation that began with, “I’m leaving.”

My boss of course was so supportive and excited for me, there was a touch of sadness on both sides of the table but alas it was time and we both knew it.

I’m so excited for this next chapter in my life. I’m excited that I am fortunate to be able do this and explore this beautiful country. I’m excited for all the craziness and unpredictability that we will encounter.  It’s hard to believe that it’s finally really happening! I walked out of his office smiling, the same smile I walked into this office with 14 years ago, but this time, with a different outlook on life, an open mind to experience any and every thing and the whole world in front of me.

On to the next adventure…
